Women's Participation in Business Licensing Continues to Strengthen

Data on the issuance of Business Identification Numbers (NIB) shows significant developments in business participation by gender during the 2021–2024 period. A total of 10.6 million NIBs were issued in the past four years, with an increasingly inclusive growth trend.

Female entrepreneurs recorded the most significant increase, with 6.5 million NIBs, surpassing the 4.1 million NIBs issued to male entrepreneurs. The largest surge occurred in sole proprietorships, which rose from 511,000 NIBs in 2021 to over 4 million in 2024. This underscores women's role as key drivers of micro and small business growth.

In the Individual Limited Liability Company (PT Perorangan), women's participation also continued to increase, from 436 NIBs in 2021 to 13,430 NIBs in 2024, although men still dominate this category.

These findings reflect the growing contribution of women to the national economy and demonstrate that the business licensing ecosystem is becoming increasingly accessible to all segments of society.
